statistics collection

Hi there,

We have a mostly idle deadline7 farm. While doing some maintenance i noticed that the statistics db is getting quite large despite the lack of activity:

Note that our entire deadline6 db for the active production is around 20gigs, while the idle deadline7 farm has 8 gigs of stats already. Is that expected?

We added more slave statistics tracking to 7.0. Slaves will now log statistics like CPU and RAM usage, number of successful and failed tasks, etc, every 10 minutes. You can then view these stats in the Farm Reports dialog in the Monitor (they’re in the Slave Statistics report).

Currently, old stats are purged after 120 days, but if you want to trim down the stats collection a bit, you can decrease the threshold in the Statistics panel in the Repository Options.

Cool, thanks for the pointer! Also, the additional stats will come in handy to generate some metrics.
