Strange AE error

aerender Error: After Effects error: file (project name) cannot be imported files of type cannot be used as sequences.

I’m betting this is a Quicktime problem, not a Deadline problem.

What is everyone running Windows doing about the whole Quicktime situation? I’ve removed it, but I still have projects that pull MOV files in - and 95%+ of my clients all run Macs, so Quicktime is a necessary evil.

But again, I’m assuming this is being caused by quicktime. The error isn’t calling out a Quicktime file, it’s actually calling out the name of my project.

Hey Paul,

Would you be able to get us a full error log for this so we can see the context it is happening. Also would you be able to try opening the scene file outside of deadline to see if it errors and if so if it gives you any more information. It appears that in the error message it is not saying a file type which is weird for that kind of error.

Thanks,
Grant

I’m emailing a couple of logs now.

The file rendered fine in AE, but either using the submission script or submitting the scene file inside DL Monitor failed to render.

Thanks!

Paul

We had isues with the output file name, if the drive that the file was being written to was V://blahblah it would change in the submission settings to /v/Blahblah.

For now we submit the job as suspended and amend the entry in the Modify Job Settings window

Which version of Deadline are you on? A known issue with paths being manipulated during submission was fixed in 8.0.9.1 (forums.thinkboxsoftware.com/vie … 09&t=14764).

Cheers,
Ryan

We’re in 8.1.3.1 but about to upgrade to 8.1.4.6 in the nxt few days

Cool. After you upgrade to 8.1.4.6, let us know if you still see this problem!
