We run our Deadline Repository in the cloud. Or I should say, we used to run our Deadline Repository in the cloud. We had a pretty light month of rendering with a couple days of the render farm running. Relatively low usage really.
So imagine my surprise when somehow Deadline consumed 2.1TB of data in 2 weeks!!! I’m not sure what it was transferring back and forth but apparently it got stuck in a loop and spent $200 on sending data out to workers/pulse. And that was with only 15 workers.
We need tools to keep data usage in check. There is no reason I can think of for 2TB of data transfer. We didn’t even generate 2TB worth of renders in that time period.
