hi guys,
i’ve installed 6.2 version today and everything was working fine. then 12 hours later the tasks are being stuck on starting up for 20-25 minutes.
we are using pulse. i’ve restarted the server computer and all of the slaves but it’s stays the same.
it does look like 4 slaves are behaving normal though.
Could it be a problem with the scene file you’re trying to render? Can you submit a simple test scene to see if it has the same problem?
Cheers,
Ryan
suddenly everything is back to normal while rendering the same scene…
i will keep watching the render farm and will update if i see a change.
ok, so the problem is back. i’m testing with 3 different scenes and the result is the same.
some slaves has a normal start up time while other stuck for 10-15 minutes then start rendering.
I assume this is 3dsMax scene with VRay? + any other 3rd party plugins used, which require an additional ‘network render’ license?
Do all 3 of your test scenes contain a common ‘thing’? modifier? geometry? 3rd party plugin? bad texture? bad file path, pointing to an old server or no longer existing path?
I would recommend try opening the scene locally on one of the render nodes suffering from slowdown and see if anything pop’s up on screen? If not, can you provide the full log reports for both slow and fast slaves and then we can compare for any differences.
it seems that some of the workstations has a problem with the plugin “entropy_x64.gup”. it says that 3ds max failed to initialize. error code 126 - the specified module could not be found.
isn’t entropy_x64 is part of deadline?
Yep, the slowdown is due to 3dsMax encountering a plugin load issue. This would be something you need to resolve directly with the RayFire developers.
so i’ve uninstalled the plugin from all of the computers in the render farm and so far everything is working just fine.
i will update if there will be any changes.
thanks
