Tile Padding Bug

I just upgraded to Deadline 4.0

There is a bug with the tile padding. I get a black area as wide as my padding size along the right and bottom of my render.

Thanks,

Shaun

Hi Shaun,

Can you post a simple sample scene that reproduces the problem, as well as a screen shot of your current tile settings? Maybe the tiles produced by the scene would be good to post as well, because then we can check them to see if the problem is with the tiles or with the assembly.

Also, did you have this problem in 3.1?

Thanks!

I didn’t bother to include the individual tiles, but I can confirm the black space is on them so it must not be the assembler.

3.1 worked fine.
TileJob.zip (243 KB)

Thanks! Noticed that this is a 3dsmax scene. Which version of 3dsmax are you using?

2010 64 bit

Also, it seems like when I submitted multiple tile jobs in the past Deadline would do them in order. It would render tiles for job 1, then assemble tiles for job 1 before moving on to anything for job 2.

But in this version it’s rendering all the tile jobs in the que before doing any of the tile assembling. Is this a setting I can change? All my jobs have the same priority level.

Thanks

Hmmm… Disregard my last statement about the assembler. Now it’s grabbing them in order.

We’ve confirmed that this is a bug. We’ve logged it as such, and we should be able to fix this for Deadline 4.1. If we’re able to patch this, we’ll let you know.

Unfortunately, there are no known workarounds at the moment (unless you can get away without using the tile padding). Sorry for the inconvenience.

Cheers,

  • Ryan

Thanks for getting back to me.

Please let me know if there is any way I can modify a script or something on my end.
