Hi guys i’ve ran into a problem trying to render 8k image with the tile option (single frame tile rendering - single job, tiles as tasks), submit dependent assembly job and use draft for assembly are checked…im using 6*6 tiles.
When the task of the 36 tiles finishes, the draft assembly crashes and fails on all of the farm machines and im getting an error (error in CheckExitCode: Renderer returned non-zero error code, 1. Check the log for more information.
at Deadline.Plugins.ScriptPlugin.RenderTasks(String taskId, Int32 startFrame, Int32 endFrame, String& outMessage, AbortLevel& abortLevel)…im using max 2011 deadline 6.2.1.50 and rpm 4.64
This is a known issue with draft/the draft tile assembler. Currently to assemble the images you must be able to create 2 copies of the image in memory (one for the final image one for the current tile). We are working on upgrading draft to be able to not require this and the fix is currently aimed for 7.1. As a work around for now using the old assembler (uncheck use draft for assembly) should be able to handle the images. Let me know if this helps.
licenses are free for draft for clients on support or if they have purchased within the last 12 months. email sales@thinkboxsoftware.com to get a license.
Do you know if you have enough RAM to load up two copies of the images for Draft to render? If not then I think Grant’s suggestion to try the old Tile Assembler is a good plan. I looked over the licensing for Snowball and it looks like your support only just ran out in early December, so it’s likely your draft license only just expired. I think Chris’ suggestion to contact Sales is a good idea if you are planning to make use of Draft going forward.
