Tile Rendering - Resizing render issue...

If you have a tile render with dependant tile assembly job on deadline say at 1280x720… but you meant to kick it off at 12800x7200, You can’t change the render size in deadline without messing things up… The render ‘size’ gets change but the regions of the tiles specified in the tiles does not get recalculated.

So therefore a 10x10 Tile render kicked off at 1280x720 and changed to 12800x7200 would render still render the 1280x720 top left area of your 12800x7200 image, effectively doing a tile render of a region (which is what we’d like to be able to do in Deadline  but specifying the area)

So… Mr Thinkbox, could you either remove the option to change the render size if the job is a Tiled Job,
or make it change all the render regions on the tiles please if you change the size.

Thanks

Dave

Good call. Since we don’t have a way to update other properties when one property changes (they’re just key/value pairs in a text file), not allowing the user to change the resolution of tile jobs is the way to go. We’ll get this done in the upcoming 5.1 update.

Can we get a system in place to do Tile renders on region/crop renders please? This would be a really useful feature!

It’s already on the wish list, but it’s currently not on the short term road map.

I have a feeling I’ll make a tool before you guys do

Out of curiosity… Is it possible to make the render settings persistent with the max files? Things like Using Tile Renders…

Not in the max scene itself, but it can be made sticky on the machine you’re submitting the jobs from:
thinkboxsoftware.com/deadlin … y_Defaults
