having some problems with TP +
this version of Krakatoa…
will post more info soon
Please hurry :o)
TP 3.0 will be released tomorrow (is already out in Europe where it is 14th already)
just create a simple scene with TP 3, set renderer to Krakatoa and hit render:
"get_thinking_particle_istream: The required ThinkingParticles.dlo functions could not be loaded"
this is using the “RTM 6” build of TP 3 (latest) “ready to manufacture”

This is just wonderful! :o(
We will have to wait for the final version of TP 3.0 SDK to see what has changed.
Did it work with yesterday’s build or are you getting the same error? That would be helpful to know.
yesterday’s build was RC2, right? I’m quite sure that was working okay…

Well, use that one for testing in the mean time if it works for you.
Everybody else should use RC1 until we get the final build of TP 3.0 and the SDK and figure out a solution.
We had to load certain functions from the TP dynamically to avoid dependencies on the DLO, and it looks like something has changed between the version we have here and the final so that it does not work anymore.
Sigh…
Hi Joe,
Attached is a Zipped version of a DLR replacement which should report more info about what the problem really is.
Could I ask you to:
- Rename the MaxKrakatoa.dlr in your Max9/64 installation folder to MaxKrakatoa.bak
- Copy the content of the ZIP (another MaxKrakatoa.dlr) into that folder
- Start Max 9 64 bit - this should work with either RC2 or RC3 installation.
Once you get an error, please post it here so we can take a look at the results…
uh, my bad -- it's the x86 version that shows that error
64-bit renders Krak + TP okay...

Here comes the 32 bit version...
Here is an updated KrakatoaGUI script file which fixes a bug in the TP rollout (due to callbacks, moving multiple groups between lists was crashy).
thanks, Bobo - I updated both the 32-bit .dlr and the GUI.ms and here’s the error:
get_thinking_particle_istream: Unable to find Mastersystem::Group(int) function
Thanks Joe,
I am sure Darcy will appreciate the information and will have a good pointer to fix it soon…
Cheers,
Bobo
