UI updating

Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere, I didn’t find it.

Not exactly a bug, probably more of a request, but on my system when I change any setting in the prt loader, the viewport should update with the change. Right now I have to advance the scrub bar to refresh the display. Maybe there is a setting I didn’t find to address this already.

Need more info:

Which settings do you change that do not update?

(We had to rework the internal communication of the PRT Loader because of the added Deformations option, so there could be bugs).

But in general, changing anything except for modifying a culling objects named selection set outside of the PRT Loader’s GUI should update.

Examples:

*Changing the Viewport % of Render spinner should update the particles count in the viewport.

*Switching the color source drop-down list should update the colors of particles in the viewport.

*Changing Use Node Transform, Bounding Box or Icon checkboxes should update.

*Moving the PRT Loader or the Culling Nodes should cull the particles in/outside of the volume in real time.

*Enabling “Use Playback Graph” and spinning the Playback Graph spinner or keyframing it should update the particles in the viewport

*Changing the Offset value should also update the particles.

If you do NOT see this behavior, make sure that in your Customize>Preferences>Viewport> Configure Driver…, “Redraw Scene On Window Expose” is NOT CHECKED and that “Use Incremental Scene Updates” is CHECKED.

On my machine running Direct3D with GeForce 8800, switching Redraw Scene On Window Expose ON introduces bad updates, and uncheking “Use Incremental Scene Updates” stops redrawing completely.

YMMV depending on graphics driver and card.

We also found that Software Z Buffer redraws PRT Loaders only on 1 out of 4 viewports and we have no idea why.
