Good morning
Well i got a pretty nice bug over here and i my brain is out of logic to solve this
Here’s the situation:
I got a node with 40 core, and testing how long my frame
are taking to render depending on the number of instance on that node.
But, when i am deleting the node (in super user mode) and starting
back a new job, the instance keep reapering. I tried also
to start the job first and than delete the instance but still no succes in any way.
Here’s another thing. The node that im talking about, well i got 2 of those.
Trough my test, i’ll need sometime to completly delete the second one.
But how do i delete that last instance ? And how do i make it reaper.
Thanks !
Are you wanting to remove a slave from the repository, or remove an instance of one from a render node? I know they sound like the same thing, but they’re actually different. Slave instances on a node are repository-agnostic. So if you simply right-click on a slave in the Slave List in the Monitor and select Delete Slave, the Slave and its settings are only removed from the Repository and not from the actual node. This is important because if you want that node to connect to a different repository for some reason, you don’t want it to be blown away.
There are two ways to remove a Slave instance from a node. The first is from the Launcher running on the node. The other option is from the slave list in the Monitor while in super user mode. Right-click on the slave, select Remote Control -> Remove Slave Instance. The latter will remove it from the node, as well as the repository.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
The slave has to be Offline or Stalled before you can remove the instance.
Cheers,
Okay yes i was doing it that way,
The button is just not in the remote control menu but just over it.
But, odly… the slave keep reapering. When i confirm that i permently
remove it from the repository, i click yes and it dissapeer.
5 minute later, it’s back… Maybe i just need to reinstall my Deadline ?
The logic is gone… Abandon ship !!!
hehe, have a nice weekend and thanks again for all your help again.
But it IS in the remote control menu. See attached screen shot. As mentioned before, right-click -> Delete Slave just removes it from the repository. It doesn’t remove the local instance on the actual render node. As soon as that instance starts up again, it will create itself in the Repository again. To remove it from the Repository AND from the render node, use right-click -> Remote Control -> Remove Slave Instance.
As long as the slave is offline or stalled in the slave list, you should have access to this option.
Cheers,
Good lord how did i miss that ! Well thank you very much you help is always a lot apreciated !
