Hey, we’re troubleshooting a render issue with Maya and MentalCore, and we’re getting some log entries with just the number “501”. We’re not sure if it’s coming from Deadline, Maya, or MentalCore, so I just thought I’d check in to see if this looks familiar to you. When we get these log entries, the render has pretty much stopped, but the machine isn’t out of RAM, and the task progress percentages are jumping up and down a bit. It very well could be a problem with Maya or MentalCore, so don’t spend time looking into this - I’m just wondering if the “501” log entries mean anything to you off the top of your head. Thanks!

That’s coming from Deadline. It was some debug logging that we forgot to take out (it was printed out when you connected to the slave log remotely). It will be gone in RC2.

Ok, thanks, that answers my question. Then I’ll assume that it isn’t indicating anything related to our render issue.

I should also mention that you can always look at the prefix of the output lines to determine where it’s coming from. Anything with STDOUT: as the prefix is coming from the application that Deadline is rendering with. If there isn’t a prefix, then it’s coming directly from the slave.

Cheers,

  • Ryan

Good to know - I figured that might be the case but wasn’t 100% sure. Thanks for the info!
