Upgrading from 6.0 to 6.1 question

Do I need to also reinstall a new repository from the 6.1 install files?

You still need to run the 6.1 repository installer, but just pick your existing 6.0 repository as the installation folder. The installer will update the database and repository as necessary.

What does it do with custom files and files that I might have edited. One example is the ModoSumbission.py. I made some changes to that but kept the same name (with the original archived). Will the 6.1 repository install overwrite that script? I’m guess that it does and I will need to backup and reinstall my modified scripts. But I’d like to know for sure.

I usually install the new repository onto my local workstation, and point it to the existing database. That way, none of the files on the repository get changed, but the database is reconfigured.

Then i merge my changes with the local repository installation (basically a ‘filedump’), and copy that manually to our live repository

There is also the ‘custom’ folder in the Repository that has subfolders for custom Monitor scripts, plugins, events, etc. The repository installer will not overwrite anything in the folder.

OK, thanks for the info guys.
