Using Deadline on unsupported Linux distributions?

Hi, I read the documentation and it lists the following distributions as supported:

Ubuntu 20.04
Debian 10
CentOS 8, or 9
RHEL 8, or 9
Rocky Linux 8 or 9
AlmaLinux 8 or 9

At first I didn’t really pay attention and tried installing it on Debian 12 a while ago, with a custom MongoDB install beforehand. It didn’t work. I searched this forum and learned Deadline requires some old MongoDB version that’s no longer available for higher OS versions on Linux. Is that correct?

I later installed it on the supported Rocky 9 and as expected it worked out of the box.

What I’m curious about is is it possible to actually make it work on unsupported distributions? And what would that process possibly involve? I’ll appreciate any info on this.

If you got 10.4.0.10 to work with SSL Certificates, you made the right choice! I tried different mongodb versions and different openssl versions.

I ended up going with a newer Ubuntu version than the “supported”. I thought Rocky 9 might be the go-to as that is in the deadline 10.4 PR.
