Hi,
Since transferring to the new Deadline one of our artists has had a series of Vray jobs in 3DS Max that rendered fine but then didn’t save the files to the server. I’ve narrowed it down to an error in his save path in the Vray Frame Buffer. It looks like he was changing file names and has picked an existing file and added “.RGB_Color” to his file name. This seems to then break the system when it comes to saving the files back onto the server at the end of the job.
I’ve attached one of the logs from the frame. But it looks like the “Split Image File Name” for the job is “…\SH0060_RainShower.RGB_Color.exr” rather than “…\SH0060_RainShower.exr”, this would mean all the passes would double up the “RGB_Color” part of the path, i.e. the RGB_Color pass will look like this “…\SH0060_RainShower.RGB_Color.RGB_Color.0000.exr” and the zdepth “…\SH0060_RainShower.RGB_Color.VrayZdepth.0000.exr”. It looks like this is being cleared out somewhere along the way meaning it can’t find the files.
Obviously this isn’t something we would normally do but it’s quite easy for someone to accidentally do it. The jobs aren’t erroring, the files just don’t appear on the server even though it gets to the end of the task and can’t find any of the vray elements on the local system to copy back. Any thoughts on if this is a bug or there is a way to handle these situations?
Thanks
Nick
