When I submit a job from RPM to Deadline where the pass has the VFB setting unchecked, the resulting job renders with the VFB showing. When I go to modify the properties of the job in Deadline, the VFB setting is TRUE. If I manually set it to FALSE, then the VFB is not shown during rendering.
Is this problem in the SMTD scripts not pulling the setting out of RPM?
SMTD has no knowledge of RPM. RPM is pulling settings from SMTD. I assume RPM should be ignoring/overriding the SMTD settings in this case, but I could be wrong.
I am looking into SMTD+RPM again this week, but I have to insight into the RPM part. So I am not sure if I can do anything about this…
OK, an update on this. I don’t think I made myself very clear.
When I said I had the VFB setting in RPM unchecked… I meant the VFB setting in the Common tab (this is used to enable the VFB so the user can see results when doing test preview renders via RPM).
I was unaware that there was a VFB setting in the Network(Deadline) tab>Render tab. (I had looked for this before because when RPM is in BB mode, there is a VFB Override setting down in the Network(BB) tab which overrides the value of the VFB setting in the Common tab… thus allowing the user to see preview render results on the VFB while NOT showing the VFB during net-rendering). I didn’t find it. Grant showed me where the setting was.
When this setting is unchecked, the jobs are submitted to Deadline and the VFB does not show on the slaves during rendering… as desired.
