I have created a preset that works really, really well for viewing pointclouds in MAX…the only problem is that the orientation of the particle can’t follow a perspective view. This obviously effects the look and density of the pointcloud. Not even sure its possible but this would be really useful to be able to tumble around in the viewport while the particles are always facing you.
Getting the actual view TM while you are tweaking it is kind of tricky (Magma tries to do it when you use a Transfor ToCamera/FromCamera, but it doesn’t always work).
It works well if your view is an actual Camera - just pick it as the Target Object in the Orientation controls of Frost and it will do it.
