Vray for maya, each computer render entire frame range

Hi there;

I’d like to test deadline demo with vray for maya and found an stupid issue (there must be a check box for that for sure)…

Well, the job is sent to deadline just perfect but each computer render the entire frame range in every task (wich doens’t happen with mental ray for maya). So, when comp1 is rendering frame 55 for example, it is rendering from frame 1 actually, so every frame is rendered several times and don’t know why is that. I know how to submit Mental Ray for maya jobs, and the only thing I have changed is that, to render with vray instead of mental ray.

Any ideas?.

P.S.: Should I check “animation” in vray render globals or what (now it is checked though)?

So you’ve just used the ‘vray’ renderer option in the drop down in the Maya submitter?

Yeah, I did it.

I noticed that the method to tell vray render an animation range is different from mental ray or maya software…, in vray there is a check box called something like “animation” that does not exist in mental ray nor maya software.

Is is possible that deadline doesn’t know how to manage that check box and tells every computer to render the entire animation range in every task…, I don’t know.

Well, that’s a tough one for me to figure out. Ryan knows the scripts inside and out.

So that I can figure it out, can you send me the log for that job? I can check what Deadline is feeding the render executable and do a Google search to see that it’s supplying the right information. I don’t see why it shouldn’t.

How many tasks is Deadline creating for this? You say it specifies the frame range for each. Might end up being a bug in the submit script after all.
