As you might already noticed the Vray RT Beta for Maya is running
I tried some car renderings with RT and it really helps to set up shaders with reflections, refractions and lights fast. I really like the feature of limiting the time it renders per frame. The RT engine seems to be activated only in IPR mode (sounds logicly correct) for fast response times but I wondered if somebody already tried to render with Deadline. I don’t know if one can address the RT engine without using IPR to batch render and save animations. This would be a really great workflow to set time per frame, e.g. to 1min, and send the job to the renderfarm. So one would have a preview rapidly and at the same time in quite good quality (of course it’s still noisy after 1 minute but for previewing composition and light it’s definitely enough). To get the same lights/reflections with normal Vray takes about 8 minutes (in my case) and improving render times results in decreased image quality.
So please tell me if you experienced some weird stuff with RT and Deadline
