VRAY SCENE from Maya missing texture

we render vrayscene with deadline in our render farm. We export the .vrayscene from maya and submit with monitor deadline as vray job. We notice that vrayscene go fine only if when we export the vrayscene from maya ( local workstation), we got all the texture and assets in the server ( \nas\bucket ). Instead if we read the texture and asset from the local workstation ( maya workstation) , and export the vrayscene, when we submit on deadline don’t load and render texture.
could anyone explain how deadline and vray manage the texture path and assets?
thanks a lot

they’re referenced in the vrscene, not wrapped into it, so if the textures are on the local machine the render won’t find them

we copy all texture and assets in the server machine… if we launch a still frame everything goes fine… if we launch a animation ( es. 10 fames ) deadline turn us back the attached runtime error…

there was a post previously on here about this issue, does the frame render but the task fail?

I see you’re using V-Ray 5 which isn’t supported yet either, even with todays 10.1.11.5 release :frowning:

yes… we are using vray 5 but the strange thing is that with the same vray setting, the still frame works fine with no errors… if we render only 10 frames of the same project, we got the attached error… the render don’t start and give immediately the error attached…

does it render 0-9 and then fail on 10? does the vrscene render outside of Deadline, or are you able to import the vrscene by itself?

I’m having similar issue with 3dsmax and V-Ray 4, exporting the vrscene and the first three tasks work, the rest are just a copy of task 3 (frame 2 as it starts from 0)

A work around for this is (At least this option is available in 3ds) to export vrscene to one big file. Ideally this wouldn’t be the way

no… if we try with 10 frames, no one frame were rendered… the render don’t start… have immediately error and deadline queue the frame… but no one frame are rendererd by the farm node.
we export the vrscene from maya and then submit with deadline monitor as VRAY job.
I repeat with the same settings the still frame works fine with no error… and instead the 10 animation frame give error e no render start…

What happens if you use the V-Ray export in the Maya submitter?

we don’t use the maya submitter… we use the deadline monitor cause we use different 3d app in the renderfarm…

I don’t understand that?

You say you use Maya, V-Ray and Deadline

You can run the integrated submitter within Maya to run the export locally on the machine, before submitted a standalone job, it’s an automated way of doing what you’re doing?

If the render farm is on a entirely separate network you could either translate the paths in Deadline or use the job transfer

why using the integrated submitter, when already maya have the vrayscene exporter??? why it work with only still frame and not animation on the same scene and settings?? this is understandable …

maya and vray already work with its integrated distribuite render… but we manage our renderfarm with deadline for all the other app… and then we have to make it work with deadline monitor… not integrated submitter or other system… it is not a problem of path or other thing… the problem is somewhere else…
