Vue 9.5 xStream missing renders

Hi

I’m trying to render a scene from Vue 9.5 xStream with some slaves and all of the Multipass images can not be found anywhere although the job was completed with 0 errors. Also for some reason all the main color images didnt end up in the specified location but locally at C:\Users\username\Documents\e-on software\Vue 9.5 xStream\Pictures

The one slave that actually rendered both the main color and multipass renders to the specified location was the local one.

After checking one of the slave’s logs i can see that it thinks there was no diskspace but there is in fact more than 300Gb empty.

Another error im getting is when i try to NOT submit the vue scene. Its located on a network location which is shared so i assumed it would work.

For the first error, a bunch of these are getting printed out:

We’ll have to modify the Vue plugin to watch for this specific error, since Vue doesn’t seem to think this is a problem. :slight_smile:

More importantly though, it would be good to figure out why it can’t write the output file. Is there sufficient disk space in the output location to write the file? Does the node have write permissions to this location.

For the second error, it seems that Vue can’t load the scene:

Is the file it’s looking for at that location? Can you access it from Windows explorer on the nodes?

One thing to look for is if you get prompted to enter your credentials when using Windows explorer to browse this path from the node. If you are, that could explain the access problem.

Been having a similar issue with Vue 9.5… We had it working a while ago… then we upgraded to Deadline 5.1 and reinstalled our entire farm, and also upgraded to Windows 7. So a few too many variables thrown in for me to find out where the problem is…

I manually edited the vue plugin configuration in Deadline to point to 9.5 instead of 9. It seems like the deadline standard is to point them to the .eon files but we had to point them to the .exe files to get it to work before. It appears to work with the job being sent to the slave, the slave taking the appropriate time to render the job and yet there is no render file apon completition of the job, there is however the gbuffer render elements… they have all saved to disc, just to confirm the rendering took place. I can’t find any copies of the files locally on any of the machines, but then again the My Documents/E-on software\Vue 9.5 xStream\Pictures folder doesn’t exist on that machine, so maybe it never writes to it’s default folder as it doesn’t exist. I’ll create the folder and see what happens…

Worringly it seems to keep refering to unsupported avi file… The render is an exr, and tested it with HDR… just looks like it’s defaulting back to it’s default file types/locations which is what vue does when it can’t find the correct folder. Often ends up writing a bmp file to my documents.

I’ve also got the other issue that I’m submitting from a Windows XP 64bit machine and sending to a windows 7 machine, not sure if Vue’s internal drive mapping/file path methods are having issues with this. Will attempt to test from a windows 7 machine at some point. The strange thing is the render elements are pathed to a subfolder of the folder where the rgb should go and they save out fine in the correct format as well.

Doubt there is much of a Deadline bug here… It’s normally Vue…

Sorry for the later response, i didnt get any emails although im subscribed to the thread.

Everything is shared and can be accessed through explorer normally. Also yes we had alot of free space so that wasnt the issue.
