What causes corrupted jobs?

I was wondering what the leading causes of corrupted jobs are? We are currently getting at least 1 every 2 days. Both Nuke and Maya jobs get corrupted. Also, how does Deadline determine if a job is corrupted?

A job becomes corrupt in one of two cases:

  1. The [JOB ID].job file in the job’s folder in the repository becomes corrupt. This is an XML file, so if something messes up the XML tags, or if an error occurs while writing the file, it can become corrupted.
  2. The [JOB ID].job is missing. This can occur when an attempt is made to delete a job, but something (ie: a locked file) prevented the entire job folder to be removed.

1 or 2 a day seems like a lot. We push thousands of jobs through every week and we rarely see corrupted jobs. Which version of Deadline are you running? Maybe they’re more prevalent in a particular version.
