Anyone else noticing this?
-Using bitmap as a mask for water/foam mix material: 1m15s
-Using whitecaps map, longevity @25: 3m40s
-Using whitecaps map, longevity @75: 7m50s
I know that the foam maps are painfully slow at the moment. But, my next update will deal strictly with performance. It’s getting a big overhaul as we speak. I don’t know how much faster it will be, but I’m pretty sure that the texture maps will get well over twice as fast in the renders. I’ll post some performance stats with the update.
Great! Wasn’t complaining, just pointing out at the problem…
Also one whitecap file size is 256MB for me?
Am I doing anything wrong or why is it taking so much space?
I can’t see a reason to have such large whitecap data files. Something seems wrong. what is your tile resolution setting in your Bermuda node?
Sorry for late reply. Yes, I was using 12 tile resolution. but if i use less, i lose details on geometry.
Reducing the ‘tile size’ parameter effectively increases the resolution, you could set the resolution back to 512x512 and reduce the tile size to a point where you have enough detail. Just ensure that there is no visible tiling along the horizons.
