We are having no issue saving out a whole Car (that’s what we do here) as a single xMesh, but we do have issues when saving out exceedingly long named objects.
While this ought to be resolved on our side anyway, the timing for a fix may be long due to a number of considerations (the names are long for operative reasons).
A “patch” for this would be to be able to choose a common root name (say “Porsche_918”) at saving time, and the for xmesh saver to simply save out numbered .xmesh files.
Given the xMesh file already contains metadata about the files it ought to load, i thought adding the “original object name” as a metatag would solve all of these type of issues.
Would this be doable (ofc, in max and maya), or out of the question, for whatever reason?
