XMesh Loader 0.2.0 for 3ds Max

This release replaces the old scripted plugin with a new compiled plugin.

To Users of XMesh Loader 0.1

 • All file names have been changed from MeshLoader* to XMeshLoader*
 • You cannot run the new XMeshLoader alongside the old MeshLoader. If you have manually copied files (instead of using the installer) then you will need to manually remove the old MeshLoader* files.

The old scripted plugin has been renamed “LegacyXMesh”. It is still part of the plugin so you can continue to load old .max files. The LegacyXMesh is hidden in the Create panel, but you can reveal it by making the following change to XMeshLoader/Scripts/XMeshLoader.ms . On line 17 of XMeshLoader.ms, change:

invisible:true to

--invisible:true

The new compiled plugin is named “XMeshLoader”. It’s meant to be functionally equivalent to the old plugin, but a lot has changed behind the scenes so I expect there are some new bugs.

What’s New?

 • No longer uses a scripted user interface
 • Can now load polymeshes
 • Added “Nearest Frame Velocity Offset” loading mode as a possible workaround for the issue reported here
 • Fixed face channels in Frame Interpolation loading mode (bug report)
