Xmesh Loader on the farm

Hey guys

Can you only use xmesh loader on one version of max at a time? I installed max 2013 on the farm and added xmesh to the exe etc. When submitting a 2012 job the xmesh dll no longer exists in 2012 version. Am I being silly in thinking you cant run xmesh loader on multiple versions of max at the same time?

You can use XMesh Loader on multiple versions of 3ds Max, but, by default, it is only added to the newest version of 3ds Max. There are a few different methods to add it to a another version of 3ds Max:

A. Using the GUI

Select Start menu -> All Programs -> Thinkbox -> XMesh Loader MX 1.1 -> Add XMesh Loader to 3ds Max
In the “Browse for Folder” dialog that appears, choose the 3ds Max 2012 installation folder
Press the “OK” button

B. Using the Command Line
Open a Command Prompt window, and enter:

"C:\Program Files\Thinkbox\XMeshLoader MX\bin\MaxPluginHelper.exe" -i -q -p "XMeshLoader-MX" -m "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2012\3dsmax.exe"

C. Editing plugin.ini
Open “C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2012\plugin.ini” using a text editor. In the “[Directories]” section, add a new line:

XMeshLoader-MX=C:\Program Files\Thinkbox\XMeshLoader MX\3dsMax2012\x64
