Xmeshing Frost

im xmeshing some frost at work, and just wanted to note that it will produce wrong and quirky mesh if frost does not have the // Update Frost when Particles change // checked, which is off by default

Thank you for letting us know! We’ll look into this.

What version of 3ds Max are you using? What kind of particle source are you using?

max2010

particle source for frost was pflow

i tried several times, after realizing the update button was not checked, then it worked

I have never seen this and cannot even imagine how it could be related because XMesh takes the render state of Frost, and like any renderer should cause an update of the Frost render mesh which has nothing to do with the changing particles notifications.
Posting a simple example scene would be very helpful!

ill do that next week!

ill show u a screenshot and post scene, the xmesh was very funny, it was like a weird frost mesh around a few particles on the first frame i guess

nothing like the actual frost was looking

Thanks, an example scene would help a lot. I was unable to reproduce this issue.

Are you using the XMesh Saver script from our site?

im pretty sure jkosnik has the latest xmesh saver script running, ill check tomorrow
