Hi Folks,
I’m trying deadline in the free two slave mode with xsi and max and I’m having a few weird errors with xsi 6.5 - any network render I send via deadline ends up w2ith the noclip.pic texture rather than their assigned material even though the render nodes have the same mapped drives and the scenes are set to use unc paths for textures - I’ve had to change the deadline plugin config to point directly at xsi 6.5’s xsibatch.bat so the -render switch works fine. Also if I make a bat file and set it on the render nodes the frames come out fine.
Any ideas why this might be?
cheers,
John
Hi John,
Are the texture paths relative or absolute? In other words, do they use
a prefix in square brackets instead of being full complete path? If so,
it’s likely that when Deadline goes to render the scene, that prefix
gets resolved to the local XSI path on your render node, instead of
using the network path that your workstation resolves to.
If you scene is already saved on the network, try unchecking the “Submit
Scene File” option in the submission dialog. This will force Deadline to
load that scene from the network instead of copying it locally first,
which may solve this problem (something similar had to be done in order
for XSI to resolve the output filename properly).
Give this a try and let us know if you have any luck!
Cheers,
- Ryan
