+1 to everything said above. And gandhics has a point. Practically all plugins are recompiled for release day now, except for anything coming from Thinkbox.
I really have a problem with not being able to update practically all our software due to one pipeline part being late all the time.
We’re huge fans of Deadline here, but this is just disappointing, not to mention unprofessional. The very least you could do is give us an official date.
I’m attaching updated plugin/submission scripts for 3ds Command Submission. This will allow you to use Deadline Monitor > Submit > 3D > 3ds Command to submit 3dsmax 2020 jobs as a workaround
until 3dsmax 2020 support is available for the 3dsmax plugin. Additionally the 3ds Command Submitter can be used through 3ds max by following the submitters manual setup instructions.
I don’t understand why support for all 2020 plugins has to go out at the same time.
I assume there is no big change on Lighting plugin and just matter of recompiling. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Service Pack 1 is now out for 3ds Max 2020. Maybe we should start tying our maintenance payment day and date to the Deadline Max 202# release schedule? Would that help prioritize development?
We’re still working on getting Corona and V-Ray DR offload working but we didn’t want to hold this back any longer. I’m attaching the compiled binaries for Max 2020, the submitter updates, and plugin changes required to get most people rendering.
Instructions on how to deploy the files is written in the zip file itself but I’ll watch over the thread here in case there are any issues so we can handle those quickly.
