Issues Setting up AWS Portal for First Time

Hello, Im in the process of setting up AWS Portal for the first time. My goal is to utilize (5) Arnold on Premise licenses with Maya & Deadline UBL’s. I have pretty much followed the AWS Portal Setup video on YouTube.

The first issue I can’t solve is when I go to launch the Deadline Infrastructure I get the following error.

Connection Server Offline
The Connection Server set in the settings ( DESKTOP-ACEVQM5 ) is not running. The Connection Server must be running in order for the Infrastructure to launch properly.

The connection server shows the server name ( DESKTOP-ACEVQM5 ) is running in the Connection Server Panel

Any Ideas?

Hey Chance,

If you open Deadline Monitor > View > New Panel > Connection Servers you should see your RCS listed. Is it running? If no, you need to turn it on. If yes, look under the ip address column to see if it is listing a ipv6 or ipv4 address.

AWS Portal doesn’t support ipv6 at the moment. To workaround this you can disable ipv6 on your network interface and restart the RCS.

Regards,

Charles

Interesting wrinkle about IPv6, we have released support for dual-stacked networks where your primary connection is IPv6 but there is a v4 route available. You’ll have to be on Deadline 10.0.21 and have upgraded your AWS Portal components for it to work smoothly.

I’m officially spending money! It worked disabling the ip6 button. Now on to the next step. Thanks!

Okay, now I can’t delete the Infrastructure. I get the following error.

Got Access Denied when trying to delete bucket in S3 stack0a758cf1b0eb4c76b89cfe64369e8e91-bucket. Please make sure your IAM user AWSUSER has the following IAM Permission(s) to access S3.

s3:ListBucketVersions

s3:DeleteObjectVersion

s3:DeleteBucket

Any help would be great.

Looks like these permissions needed to be added to policy in documentation for Deadline 10.

It works now!
